Concept album che descrive l'esistenza attraverso lo sguardo della Grande Allucinazione.

E’ composto da 14 pezzi di cui quattro strumentali.
Fra i due brani di introduzione e chiusura si sviluppa in tre parti, ciascuna suddivisa in quattro tracce.

La prima parte descrive un approccio dapprima spensierato, poi sempre più fragile ed insicuro, nei confronti dell’esistenza.
La seconda parte è un tentativo di allontanarsi dalle inquietudini più intime, con la presa di coscienza che il mondo non finisce in se stessi: l’ipocrisia, la guerra, le bugie e l’opportunismo suggeriscono che, in realtà, l’orrore è molto più grande.
La terza parte esprime il raggiungimento di una presunta maturità distaccata e disincantata (egoista?), che sembra essere l’unico modo per ricongiungersi alla spensieratezza iniziale senza essere sopraffatti dalla realtà.
O forse no.

Il titolo dell’album è un omaggio alla poetica di Roger Waters e richiama un verso della canzone “The Final Cut” dei Pink Floyd (“there’s a kid who had a big hallucination / making love to girls in magazines / he wonders if you’re sleeping with your new found faith / could anybody love him / or is it just a crazy dream?”).

La copertina dell’album è un’opera dell’artista bovezzese Piero Tramonta, risale al 1988 ed è intitolata “Orme”. E’ stata scelta per la sua profonda evocatività e per la sorprendente somiglianza/analogia con alcune delle “immagini” ricorrenti nell’album.
